Welcome to Europia (the "App"). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how it is stored, and the rights you have over it. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the practices described below.
Europia is operated by George, an independent developer based in Canada ("we", "us", or "our"). If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can reach us at [email protected].
To provide a dating service, we collect the following categories of information:
Dating profiles may, by their nature, reveal information considered "sensitive" under laws like the GDPR (for example, information that could indicate sexual orientation or relationship preferences). By voluntarily including such information in your profile, you explicitly consent to us processing it for the purpose of operating the App. You may remove this information at any time.
We use your information only to operate and improve the App, specifically to:
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. We do not share your personal data with advertisers, data brokers, or analytics companies that aggregate and resell user data. Your information stays with us and is used solely to run the App.
To operate the App we use a small number of trusted infrastructure providers. These are not "third parties we share data with" in a commercial sense — they are the technical backbone the App runs on, and they are contractually required to protect your data.
We do not give these providers permission to use your data for their own marketing or sales purposes.
We will only disclose your personal data to law enforcement, regulators, or other authorities when we are legally required to do so — for example, in response to a valid court order, subpoena, search warrant, or equivalent binding legal process. We review every such request and will reject requests that are overly broad or not legally valid where permitted by law.
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Passwords are stored as salted hashes and never in plain text. Communications between the App and our servers are encrypted in transit using TLS.
While we use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, no system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active.
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data. Canadian users are protected under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), with additional rights for Quebec residents under Law 25. EU and UK users are protected under the GDPR/UK GDPR. Users in other regions may have similar rights under their local laws.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected] . You can also delete your account at any time from within the App.
Europia is intended only for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us so we can remove it.
Europia is operated from Canada, and your data may be processed in Canada and in other countries where our service providers operate their infrastructure (including the United States and the EU). Privacy laws in these countries may differ from those in your country of residence. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses for EU users) for international transfers of personal data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
